I mention the Turtle Traders many times during my posts, and there’s good reason.
23 “Novice” investors turned millionaires.
23 people with abilities just like you and me…
Normal, everyday people.
One lady was described as “the woman who always did her nails”
So I’ve just finished reading “The complete TurtleTrader” by Michael Covel.
Michael has been a “life long” investigator into successful traders and Turtle Trading has possibly been one of his biggest and most interesting investigations.
I wanted to read more about the turtle trading story.
I’d come across it in previous training where we used a staggered entry system similar to what the turtles used.
We were briefly introduced to the turtles system and I became interested in these “normal” people.
Here’s a guide I was introduced to initially, a guide that was released by one of the turtles many years later after the experiment was deemed a success.
One of the most interesting chapters was about a trader named Salem Abraham.
Salem was referred to as a “second generation” turtle, a trader who traded the turtle style who was not educated by Dennis or Eckhardt.
Abraham had met an original turtle at a wedding as they had distant family ties. Abraham, who already had an interest in trading, was given very limited information about the trading style due to the turtles having agreed to not share the information they were taught. With this limited information, Abraham went out, studied, learnt and developed a system that was near perfect to the turtle system.
Abraham has since gone on to become one of the most successful “turtles”.
If Abraham can do this with limited information, and we have so much information including the full turtle trading style described in this book, then surely there is no excuse for us to not succeed!
With so much valuable information and inspiring true stories, this is why I put this book as an essential read for anyone who wishes to learn how to trade.
